Homeschool Activities: Weekly Spelling Words And Spelling Test

Welcome to my Homeschool Activities Series! This is the do it yourself weekly spelling words and spelling test activity. It’s simple, affective, and free!

Supplies Needed:

Markers

Lined Paper

Each Student Grade Level Spelling Words List

Spelling Test Worksheet

Directions:

1. Using the two lines, write the first word on your list.
2. Skip one line.
3. Write the numbers one through five with a skipped line in between each number.
4. Draw a vertical dotted line down the middle of the page.
5. On the right side of the dotted line, write the next word and repeat steps 1, 2, and 3.
6. Draw a horizontal dotted line under the number 5 across the page to separate the words at the top.
7. On the remaining bottom half of the page, repeat steps 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
8. Flip the paper over and repeat all steps until you have written all 10 words for the week.

Do this daily. Just replace the words with new ones.

Weekly Spelling Test

1. I searched “spelling test printable” on Pinterest and printed it out.

No printer? No problem!

1. Write Spelling Test at the top of the paper.
2. Number the paper 1-10 with 1 space in between each number.

Give out the Spelling Test one a week.

Homeschool Student Instructions:

1. Read all ten of your words.
2. Write each word 5 times each.

Weekly Spelling Test

1. Write your name and date at the top of the page.
2. Listen for the word that the teacher calls out.
3. Spell the word next to the number.
4. Repeat until you reach number 10.

I do this activity daily with my kids to keep their spelling and handwriting skills in check.
