Freebies: Free Leveled Reading Assessment

Welcome to my Homeschool Freebies Series! As a homeschool mom, I have always wondered what grade level my kids are reading at and I have found a free test at pioneervalleybooks.com.

When you get to the website you are going to click "tools". Then click "leveled reading assessment". Scroll down then click "get started".

This assessment is broken up into 2 different sections. The first sections are high frequency words and it starts off really simple. As your child read each word you are going to click "correct" or "incorrect". As they progress the words get more difficult and more challenging.

The next section is going to have your child read a bunch of stories to you. You will have to read along and keep track of how many they are getting incorrectly. Plug that in and eventualy they get graded on a scale A to Z. It gives you a chart that tells you what grade level of reading books it corresponds to.
